Founded in 2005, AS Colour is one of NZ's largest apparel brands, with multi-sites in US, UK, and AUS. Renowned for its highly successful unified B2C and B2B user interface, seamlessly integrated into a single website.
Moustache Republic has been working with AS Colour since 2015, initially building their Magento website and later migrating it to BigCommerce. We’ve implemented multiple iterations of the UI/UX and continuously improved the site to ensure it remains fully optimised for both B2C and B2B in a single platform. Over the years, our collaboration has enabled AS Colour to expand into four countries through their website, driving significant international growth and success.

An Ageing Platform | When AS Colour set up shop online, they used Magento 1 to power their eCommerce experience. However, as the platform neared its end of life in June 2020, AS Colour began to explore alternatives. After collaborating with Moustache Republic, they chose BigCommerce for their new eCommerce implementation. Together, we developed the perfect eCommerce powerhouse to drive international direct-to-consumer (DTC) and B2B growth. |
DTC and B2B on One Platform | Selling both DTC and B2B is crucial for AS Colour’s business. They needed an eCommerce solution that could provide a customer-centric purchasing and browsing experience while also offering the specific functionality necessary for B2B sales. Moustache Republic tailored the browsing and checkout experience to be distinct for DTC and B2B customers, with a bespoke UX for each. This was all achieved within the same BigCommerce instance, reducing management overhead. |
International Expansion | Growing out of New Zealand, AS Colour expanded into Australia, the UK, and the US. We built the site architecture to share mostly the same codebase for ease of development and maintenance, while allowing unique customisation for each market to tailor the UX. This approach supported AS Colour’s international growth and ensured a consistent yet locally relevant shopping experience. |
